Sewer Lateral Repair Work - Dundas Street

Please be advised a private contractor will be replacing a sewer lateral at 2049 Dundas Street, Cardinal on Tuesday April 25.  During this repair Dundas Street will be closed from civic addresses 2045 to 2053 until repairs are completed. Residents are asked to avoid the area and take alternative routes on West, William, County Road 2 or Canal Streets. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause.

Residents of Cardinal and New Wexford are notified that the Township has contracted Lakeshore Hydrant Services to perform fire hydrant flowing testing on April 17. Water customers may notice fluctuations in pressure and some discoloration. This is a normal result of the flushing process. It is recommended that customers check their water for discoloration prior to use each day and flush the cold water tap for 10 minutes if discoloration is observed as this could cause damage to laundry, etc.

Additional Brush/Leaf Drop Off Availability

Due to the recent extreme weather event in our area last week, the Township will be offering 4 additional dates for free tree/leaf drop off at the Scott Road Transfer site from 7:30 a.m.-3:00p.m. 

  • April 19th
  • April 20th
  • April 26th
  • April 27th 

These dates will be in addition to the free brush/leaf drop off at the Scott Rd Transfer site to be held throughout the month of May.
